Andrew Merryman

Andrew Merryman was born in Bowdoin, Maine on 22 December 1831.  He attended the local schools, then became a shipbuilder at Middle Bay and Pittston.   After a few years, he removed to Wisconsin and went to lumbering at Fond du Lac; he also became involved with paper making and other “downstream” manufacturing industries and with iron mining.  In later years, he became involved, also, in banking and land development in Arizona.
     He made his permanent home in Marinette, Wisconsin, where he was active in Prohibition Party work.
