Errol Shour
(1893-1975)

      Errol Shour was born in Chillicothe, Missouri in 1893, the son of Ambrose Xenophou and Bertie Lou Shour. He quit school in the 8th grade, becoming an apprentice in a drug store. By 1915, age 22, he was owner of Shour Drugs, in San Diego, California.

      He married Mary Woodward in Los Angeles on 8 July 1918. They had two children, Raeberta and Joanne.

      By 1920, the Shours were living in Los Angeles, where Errol worked as a chemist for CW Hill Chemical. He then turned to law and, by 1923, was practicing law in Los Angeles.

      Shour then felt a call to the ministry. In 1934, he was pastor of the Hoover Street Baptist Church; later becoming pastor of the North Hollywood First Baptist Church (1939-40), a member of the board of the Lost Angeles Baptist City Mission Society, and pastor of First Baptist Church in North Hollywood.

      Errol Shour died on 3 July 1975 in Granada Hills, California and is buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Hollywood Hills.
