Award Recipients

The Partisan Prohibition Historical Society invites nominations, from anyone, for its 2000 annual Certificate of Merit. This award is presented in recognition of efforts to preserve and interpret the history of the Prohibition Party. Nominations should be sent to: Partisan Prohibition Historical Society co/ Executive Director Box 212, Needmore, PA 17238.

 1972 Robert Lewis Taylor and the Carrie A. Nation WCTU of Medicine Lodge, KS, "For her autobiography and for maintaining her home as a memorial."
     
1973 Harold Francis Pfister and the Smithsonian Institution, "For the Prohibition Party section of the 'If Elected' exhibit.
     
1974 Agnes Dubbs Hayes and the National Woman's Christian Temperance Union, "For the centennial history of the WCTU."
     
1975 Chick Harris and the American Political Items Collectors, "For many articles published in the APIC Keynoter."
     
1976 Henry G. Bosch and Our Daily Bread, "For the use of numerous anecdotes on the lives of men who were active in the Prohibition movement."
     
1977 Kenneth P. Scheffel and the Michigan Historical Collections, "For work in collecting and preserving the history of the Prohibition Party."
     
1978 Argonia and Western Sumner County Historical Society (KS), "For wise foresight and dilligent care in the preservation and promotion of the Salter House Museum."
     
1979 Prohibition National Committee and Earl F. Dodge, "For financial sacrifice in redeeming, gathering, and preserving the irreplaceble items of historic worth to the Prohibition Party."
     
1980 No award given.
     
1981 Roger C. Storms, "For his tireless efforts to record the history of the Prohibition Party."
     
1982 No award given.
     
1983 No award given.
     
1984 Virginia Pierson and the Prohibition Trust Fund Association.
     
No awards were given from 1985 through 1998, because there were no nominations. Awards resumed in 1999.
     
1999 The Ohio State Historical Society, "For preserving the library of the former Anti-Saloon League of Westerville, Ohio."
