C. Floyd Hester

     Hester died, age 70, on 18 August 1957, in Burr Oak.
     He was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church.
     His obituary in the National Prohibitionist (Sep-Oct 1957, p.2) states that he was born near Mansfield, Ohio.  Later on, he moved with his family to Indiana, Iowa, and then Kansas.  

     Contradicting earlier profiles in the same paper, the obituary states that he earned his BA from Houghton College and his MA from Oberlin.  He was made president of Miltonvale Wesleyan College in 1952 "during the depression when the future of the college was very dark." 

   Floyd Hester of Burr Oak was elected Treasurer of the Prohibition National Committee in 1955.  He held a BA from Oberlin College and an MA from the University of Wisconsin.  
     He was a veteran of WWI.  
     He was a school teacher, a school principal, and a college president.  He represented the YMCA and the International Famine Relief Committee in Europe and in the Far East.  
     Floyd Hester was Kansas state chairman in 1952.  He lived in Burr Oak.
